Gehrie A. "Ted" Bair, 60, of Timberville, Va., died Friday, May 6, 2011, at home.
Born April 27, 1951, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of Gehrie Bair Jr., of Hanover, Pa., and the late Wilma Snyder Bair. He was the husband of Alice Wolfe, of Westminster, whom he married Aug. 1, 1970.
He was a 1969 graduate of South Western High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife management from West Virginia University in 1974. He was employed for 30 years by Henson Paving Company of Hanover, Pa., and most recently by Stone Hill Farms of Harrisonburg, Va.
He was a member of the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway, Va.
Surviving, in addition to his father and wife, are daughter and son-in-law Ashley B. and Justin L. Hill, of Harrisonburg; sons and daughters-in-law Gehrie "Mac" and Melanie E. Bair, of Dayton, Va., and Ross M. and Julia L. Bair, of Manassas, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law Robin and Tony Baummer, of Spring Grove, Pa., and Sherry Heflin, of Hanover; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Samantha Bair, of Hanover; grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Kaylee, Tyler, and Kyrstin Hill, of Harrisonburg, Cooper and Rowan Bair, of Dayton, and Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bair, of Manassas.
A private interment will be at John Luther Miller Memorial Cemetery in Bachman's Valley.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Ave., Hanover, with the Rev. Paul Roth, of Broadway officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at Linville Creek Church of the Brethren, 409 Brethren Road, Broadway.
