Gene O. Hare age 80 of Millers, MD died Saturday Dec. 20, 2014 at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester, MD.
Born July 15, 1934 in Millers he was the son of the late Jessie and Hilda Graf Hare. He was the husband of 52 years to the late Mary Alice Harper Hare who died on April 11, 2014.
He was retired from Worthington Pump/Ingersoll Rand in Taneytown, MD where he worked in the stock room. He was a member of Millers United Methodist Church. He enjoyed refinishing antique trunks, boating, crabbing and tinkering in his workshop. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Rill and husband Allen of Westminster, MD and Carol Sheffler and husband David of Manchester, MD, grandchildren, Allison and Cassidy Rill and Nicholas and Natalie Sheffler.
He was predeceased by a grand daughter, Mary Sheffler, and siblings, Mildred Essich, Herman (Bud), Gordon and Donald Hare.
The family will receive friends on Friday Dec. 26, 2014 from 10:30am until 11:30am at Miller's United Methodist Church, 3435 Warehime Rd., Millers, MD where a funeral service will be held at 11:30am with the Rev. Dr. Art Thomas officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Miller's United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. Manchester, MD.
