Geneva Mae Ledford Greene Friedel, 94 years old of Kingsport, TN died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her home in Kingsport.
Born June 9, 1920 in Mitchell County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Daunt Ledford and Thersia Gouge Ledford.
She made many beautiful quilts and gave them to the people she loved, and were dear to her, in Baltimore, the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Kingsport. She made many friends over the years.
Her family wants to say thank you to each and everyone that helped take care of Geneva, and to make her days a little brighter. Amedisys: Jeff, R.N., Lois, Mike, Connie, Becky, etc. Personal Care Giver's: Diane, Marsha and Nancy. She loved them all. Thanks.
She was predeceased by her husbands: Samual P. Greene and John W. Friedel, her sister: Nell Davis and her brothers: Henry Gouge and Rafe Ledford.
She is survived by her son and his wife: John and Billie Jean Greene, granddaughter Tammy Hicks, grandson Jimmy Greene, great granddaughter Brandy Hunley, 2 great great grandchildren Nevaeh and Josh Hunley, her sister Ruby Johnson and her brother and his wife: Guy C. and Barbara Ledford.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 10:00am -11:00am at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, MD 21117.
Services will begin at 11:00am.
Interment in New Oakland Mills Cemetery.
