Beloved husband and father, friend, volunteer, musician and sportsman, George Joseph Charles Nardone (affectionately known as Jay) 58, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on March 11, 1965, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Colonel George Joseph Gerard Nardone and Rosemary Margaret Esposito Nardone. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Amy Elizabeth Nardone.
Jay is a graduate of Anne Arundel High School 1983, Capitol University studying Electrical Engineering with a Bachelors in 1999 and obtaining a Masters degree in 2005. He was a volunteer firefighter, paramedic and EMT at the Anne Arundel Fire Department for many years. Jay worked as an Electrical Engineer for the US Army CECOM, a Leads System Engineer for Booz Allen Hamilton, a Chief Engineer for Lockheed Martin, a Principal Engineer at the Boing Mission Systems Program Manager at AAI, a Senior Program Manager for Raytheon Advanced Communications and Countermeasures and for the U.S. Department of Defense. He recently was awarded a Master Sigma Blackbelt in Quality and Leadership.
Jay was a HAM Radio Operator, he loved to shoot Trap and competitively shoot. He had a love of fixing up old cars and used to custom build Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He shot competitive archery and flew RC Helicopters. He was a member of the Society of Creative Anachronism with his wife, where he shot target archery and made custom arrows. He was most content when he was with his family.
Surviving him in addition to his wife is a son: Jason Bryden, sister: Lynn Nardone Dabrowski and husband Edward Dabrowski, nephew: Paul Dabrowski and wife Emily, nieces: Michelle Crane and husband Dale, Allison Zimmerman and husband Jeffrey, Anjelica Dabrowski and fiancé Jason Pistorio, 5 great-nieces, and 2 great-nephews. He is also survived by his cats: Aine, Kinnon, and Kennedi.
In lieu of a memorial there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
