George Calvin Cook, 82, of Hanover, PA died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Hanover General Hospital in Hanover, PA.

Born in Whitehall on December 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Harry and Lottie Cook. He was the former husband of Dorothy Tawney Cook of Manchester.

Mr. Cook was a retired foreman for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a life member of the Westminster VFW.

Surviving in addition to his former wife are his children Ronald Cook and his wife Patti of Hanover, PA, Karen Davidson and her husband Bryan, Sr. of Westminster, Scott J. Cook and his wife Holly of Hanover, PA, Randy Cook and his wife Lisa of Westminster, Barbara Mancha and her husband Dennis of Manchester; his grandchildren Robert Cook, Brian Fridinger, Bryan Lee Davidson, Jr., Kari Rhodes, Ryan Cook, Becky Cook, Randy Cook, Jr., Brandon Cook, D.J. Mancha, Sandy Mancha Wright, and Brent Mancha; his six great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with Rev. Mindy Coates officiating.

Interment will be in Patapsco United Methodist Church Cemetery in Finksburg.
