George Robert Gill, age 93, of Reisterstown, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Chapel Hill Nursing Home, Randallstown after an extended illness.
Born August 14,1915 in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late George W. and Pearl Leski Gill. He was the husband of the late Gertrude Ayers Gill who died in 1972.
Mr. Gill worked for the Chessie System for many years. The Railroad was not only his livelihood but also his hobby. He served in the Merchant Marine during WWII.
Mr. Gill is survived by his two daughters, Mae Neighoff of Reisterstown and Rose Marie Harrison of Virginia, two step-sons, Jack LaMotte of Reisterstown, Herman Hazlett of Owings Mills, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step-son, George Hazlett.
Funeral Services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. , Owings Mills on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Clarence L. Roark officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 7-9 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
