George Charles Hann, 88, of Manchester died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born October 21, 1923 in Manchester, he was the son of the late Harvey C. Hann and Mary Stump Hann. He was the husband of Alice Elizabeth Gummel Hann, his wife of 62 years.
He had work for 30 years for Black and Decker. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1940 and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Manchester, and the Westminster American Legion. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and painting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son and daughter-in-law Glenn R. and Deborah L. Hann of Manchester; his daughter Gail R. Hallman of Hanover, PA; his sister Dorothy Brothers of Westminster; his 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 8 siblings.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester with his pastor Rev. LoisAnn Furgess-Oler.
Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
