George Hill, 71, of Manchester died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born on December 13, 1938 in Bakersville, NC, he was the son of the late John Hill and Elizabeth Whitson Hill. He was the husband of Janet Allman Myers Hill of Manchester, his wife of 48 years.
He was a pipe layer for CJ Miller.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Elva Alsruhe of Manchester, Susan Merryman of Hampstead, Jesse Fridinger of Loganville, PA, Pamela Stambaugh of Chincoteague, VA, and Theresa Johnson of Florida; his brother Arnold Hill of West Virginia; his sister Nannie Turfle of Westminster; his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Nicole Hill; his sisters Ora Wolfe, Joyce Franklin, Martha Yelton, and Esther Lee Ibex; his brothers Loy Hill and Claude Hill.
Service and Interment will be private.
