George "Russ" Russell Lessner

George "Russ" Russell Lessner, 85, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Finksburg, MD. Born on July 18, 1932 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Maurice Leroy and Alice Ruth (nee Jackson) Lessner. He was the husband of June Catherine Sullivan Lessner for 65 years.

Russ retired from the State Highway Administration where he worked as an Equipment Engineer and Supervisor for many years. Prior to that, he owned Russ's Auto Service of Glyndon for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Company, The BUC's Club, and VFW Post 521. He was a 32 ^nd degree Mason, affiliated with the Shriners Boumi Temple and the American Legion. Russ also served his country proudly and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter: Linda Warren and husband Gary, grandchildren: Kristin Coleman and husband Jeff, Kara Warren, Brandon Warren and wife Danielle, great grandchildren: Garrett, Wyatt, Weston, and Olivia.

He was predeceased by brothers: Robert Lessner, John Lessner, and Charles Lessner.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 10, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, at 11 am. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
