Gerald "Jerry" Alvin Shriver

Gerald "Jerry" Alvin Shriver, 92, of Hampstead, MD passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022. Born June 30, 1929, in Biglerville, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond Ernest and Nettie Elizabeth Coulson Shriver.

Jerry proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine prior to serving in the United States Army. He held many jobs throughout the years from owning a gas station with his brothers, factory work at Westinghouse Electric, servicing x-ray equipment to delivering auto parts for NAPA then retiring at the young age of 88. Hard work is his legacy. Jerry frequented NESAP Thrift Store with contributions for the community.

Surviving him are his children: Jody Shriver, his wife Janel and Jeannine Herbert, grandchildren: Jeffrey Wilson Herbert, Jr, his wife Allison Brae, Jamie Marie Ella Herbert and Nadia Marie Shriver, great grandchildren: Bentley Wilson Herbert, Addison Brae Herbert with his third great grandchild Maverick James due April 2022, his loving brother and constant companion, Richard Shriver. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings: Margaret Coppage, Amos Shriver, Sr., Elda Sichelstiel, Eleanor "Dolly" Liddell, Raymond Shriver, and Harold Shriver.

Per Jerry's wishes, a funeral service will not be held. His cremated remains will be scattered in the ocean by his loved ones.
