Gerald "Gerry" Kleiman age 75, died on November 7, 2022, at FutureCare – Courtland. Gerry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Helen (nee Sproesser), cherished son, Dan Kleiman (Robert Viau), sister Bonnie Kleiman, brother, Warren Kleiman (Fran) both of the Rochester, NY area. He is also survived by nieces: Sara Kleiman, Laura Kleiman (Jerry Barth), Anna Malik (Abbas Malik) and Rosa Kleiman.
Gerry was a 1970 Graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology majoring in Printing Management and began his professional career at the IRS as a publisher. He continued in this field with the government until he left to work at Waverly Press in Baltimore. Gerry returned to government service at the GAO as head of printing and publishing and retired from there in 2003.
Gerry was a lover of all animals, especially cats, as evidenced in his work as author of "Hidden Claws" a political satire and fantasy. Gerry enjoyed traveling, especially to the British Isles. He loved fishing, reading and watching British mysteries and comedies on local public television. His favorite pastime was petting cats.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Glyndon Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Reisterstown, MD. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. in the Narthex at Sacred Heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able to make a donation either to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573 or Rochester Institute of Technology Lacrosse Program, 1 Lomb Memorial Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
