Gerald Gilbert Reese, 58, of Lineboro died Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born on November 11, 1951 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gilbert Lee Reese and Virginia Caroline Stoner. He was the husband of Linda Lewis, his wife of 32 years.
He was a chemist for Davison Chemical, W.R. Grace for 32 years and was member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Hampstead. He grew up in Alesia and played football for North Carroll High School. He was a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park.
In his spare time, he was an avid train enthusiast, a volunteer engineer for the Walkersville Southern and former Entertrainment of New Freedom, PA excursion lines and was a member of the Western Maryland Railroad Historical Society.
Furthermore, he was an assistant Scout Master for Troop 320, Manchester, volunteered as a docent with the Heritage Rail Trail County Park in York County, PA, and was an avid "recumbent" bicyclist who participated in the Seagull Century in Salisbury and the Tour de Carroll in Westminster.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons Matthew Lewis Reese & wife Deborah of Montgomery Co., and Phillip Lewis Reese and girlfriend Lauren Tucker of Towson; his brothers Allan Reese of DE, Roger Reese of Manchester, and Tommy Reese of Harford Co., and his Aunts Ann Louise Stoner of Baltimore & Gloria Stoner of Harford Co..
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 4300 Church Road, Hampstead in the pavilion with lunch to follow.
Interment will be private.
