Geraldine "Gerry" Burgoon, 69, of Oldtown, formerly of Hampstead died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at York Select Specialty Hospital in York, PA.
Born in Wilson, NC on November 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Leamon Franklin Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Bailey Evans. She was the wife of Thomas E. Burgoon, III, her husband of 49 years.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She enjoyed life itself and in her spare time enjoyed bingo, bowling and hummingbirds.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons and daughters in law Thomas E., IV and Tammy P. Burgoon of Wilson, NC, John M. Burgoon of Ft. Myers, FL, and James E. and Lisa F. Burgoon of Westminster; her grandchildren Jacob, Travis, Brandon, Emily, and Mason Burgoon; and her brother and sister in law Bobbie J. and Donna Evans.
She was predeceased by her brother Billy Wayne Evans.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Oldtown United Methodist Church, 18811 Oldtown Road Southeast, Oldtown, MD 21555.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oldtown United Methodist Church, Attention Youth Ministry, 18811 Oldtown Road Southeast, Oldtown, MD 21555 or the Oldtown Fire Company, 18712 Maryland 51, Oldtown, MD 21555.
