Geraldine Regina Daittillio Evich, 83, of Manchester, MD, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Best Care Assisted Living in Reisterstown, MD. Born on February 24, 1942, in Donora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francesco Daittillio and Pasqualina T. Fantone. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark A. Evich, who passed away in 1991.

Geraldine was a longtime resident of Maryland, but she always considered Donora, Pennsylvania, as home. She was a survivor of the famous “Donora Smog” pollution disaster of 1948, which claimed 20 lives and led to the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency. She loved visiting home and was particularly delighted to celebrate a surprise 80th birthday party with her family and friends in Donora.

Geraldine worked as a receptionist for JCPenney department store in Laurel, MD, for many years. After her retirement, she lived out her true vocation as a loving mother and dedicated grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and joyfully attended sports and school activities. She was also blessed to meet and spend time with her great-granddaughter, Francesca. She loved attending bingo at the North Carroll Senior Center and working on word searches, but her true passion was watching her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Capitals, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Penn State Nittany Lions on TV.

Geraldine was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Joseph Parish in Hanover, PA. She was kind, compassionate, and loving, a wonderful spouse, mother, daughter, sibling, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who modeled love and care for anyone blessed to come in contact with her.

Surviving her are children: Jeffrey Evich (Maureen) of Manchester, MD, Scott C. Evich of Raleigh, NC, Rebecca DeMouy (Benjamin) of New Windsor, MD, and grandchildren: Carson Evich, Mark Evich (Elizabeth), Nicholas Evich, Zachary DeMouy, Lillian DeMouy, Gerald DeMouy, and great-granddaughter Francesca Evich. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Rosemarie Daittillio, brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Kathy Maloney, sister-in-law Frances O’Brien, brother-in-law Andy Dzurinko, and nieces and nephews, Debra Daittillio, Pamela Daittillio, Paula Herbick (Aaron), Michael Delduca (Margaret), David Delduca (Melissa), Brian Maloney (Deborah), Mark Maloney, Michael Maloney (Rosario), Sean Maloney (Candice), Dara Dzurinko, and Chris Dzurinko.

Geraldine was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Martha Evich; her siblings: Grace Delduca, Charles Daittillio, and Francis Daittillio; her brother-in-law, Joseph Delduca; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Daittillio.

Funeral services and interment are private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Manchester, MD.
