Gertrude Marie Hoover

Gertrude "Sis" Marie Hoover, 92, of Baltimore, MD, passed peacefully Friday Feb. 23, 2018 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born Oct. 22, 1925 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Celia Shipley Snouffer. She was the wife of the late William Howard Hoover who died in 1998.

Sis was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed reading and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children; Roxanna Fenske and husband Bill of West Virginia, Bruce Hoover of Manchester, MD, Cassandra Linardi and husband Richard of Baltimore, MD, Pamela Viel and husband Martin of Hanover, PA, David Hoover and wife Susan Brown of Forest Hill, MD, and Kimberly DiTommasso and husband Rocco of Hampstead, MD, grandchildren; Neil, Richard, Kerri, Nikki, Toni, Matthew, William, Jamie and Noelle. She was also survived by 13 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a grandson; Scott Linardi and siblings; Dorothy, Mildred, Gladis, Betty, Robert and Richard.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD,on Monday Feb. 26, 2018 from 3-6pm. where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30am. Interment will follow in St. Abraham's Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
