Gilbert "Junior" Lewis Edwards

Gilbert "Junior" Lewis Edwards, 70, of Lutherville, MD, passed away after battling cancer on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his home.  Born on December 18, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Gilbert Anderson and Betty Jane Brown Edwards.  He was the beloved husband of Ruth Evelyn Johnson Edwards, married for 46 years.

Junior was a Farm Manager of Halcyon Farm in Lutherville, MD, for nearly 40 years.  He was a life member of Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with animals.  He also liked bowling and would attend Thursday Night bowling league at Greenmount Bowling in Hampstead.

Additional survivors include his children: Amy Edwards Flick and husband Darryl of Richmond, VA, Timothy Allen Edwards of Lutherville, MD, Kristina Lynn Gardner and husband Robert of Finksburg, MD, Jason Lewis Edwards of Lutherville, MD, grandchildren: Tyler, Brianna, Austin, Ryan, and siblings: Brenda Strauss and husband Bill of Manchester, MD, Betty Shatzer of Hampstead, MD, Judi Honeycutt and husband Jack of Bealeton, VA, and David Edwards, of Princeton, NC.  He is also survived by his beloved dog: Missy.

Junior was predeceased by his brothers: Ricky A. Edwards and Jerry Edwards.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 12, from 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD.

A funeral service and wake will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 4-7 pm, at the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, 12020 Greenspring Ave, Owings Mills, MD 21117.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Junior's name may be offered to the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, 12020 Greenspring Ave, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
