Gladys Mae Brown, 94, of Stewartstown, Pa., formerly of Reisterstown, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Rest Haven Nursing & Rehab Center in York, Pa.
Born Jan. 9, 1913, in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah F. Raver Gill. She was the wife of William Jacob Brown Sr., who died in 1984.
She had worked for Sweetheart Cup Co. for about 10 years. She then started her own business as a domestic, cleaning many homes in the area.
She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her dog, Bobo.
She was one of 16 children; and was predeceased by 12 of her siblings.
Surviving are children and spouses Dorothy Mae and Hal Barber of Delaware, Patricia and Steven LeCompte of Woodbine, Joan and Michael Steger of Manchester, Sarah F. Farron of Stewartstown, and Linda and Charles Styron of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and by siblings Jessie Garver, Nancy Ross and William Gill.
She was predeceased by a son, William Jacob Brown Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Gary Glanville officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
