Gladys Marie Harper

Gladys Marie Harper, 85, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.  Born on October 25, 1935, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Sylvester and Bessie Carrie Becker.  She was the beloved wife of the late Roy "Bud" Herbert Harper, who passed away in 2022.

Years ago, Gladys was a school bus driver for Carroll County Public Schools.  She was a longtime member of Lazarus United Church of Christ in Lineboro, MD. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and square dancing with her husband, Bud. You could often find her gardening, bird watching, spending time outside, or spending time with her family. She also had a great love for both listening to and playing music, she could play many instruments by ear.

Surviving her are daughters: Michele Harper, Tammy Harper, grandchildren: Miranda Harper, Aaron Harper, Jonah Cicchero, and great-granddaughter: Keeley Harper. Gladys is also survived by her sisters: Grace and Oneida, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister: Doris.

Funeral services and interment are private.
