Gladys Marie LaMotte age 77 of Westminster, MD. died Monday Sept. 21,2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster,MD.
Born Jan. 16,1932 in Fowblesburg, MD. She was the daughter of the late Russell Earl and Bernice Ione Abbott. She was the wife of the late Charles H. "Bud" LaMotte who died March 8,2006.
She was a retired school bus driver for the Board of Education. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, MD. and volunteered at Carroll Hospital Center. She was a member of the ELCA and enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her children: Gary and wife Patti LaMotte of Westminster, MD., Carol and husband Chuck Weishaar of Hampstead, MD., Steven LaMotte of Hampstead, MD., Debora and husband Robert Finnerty of Westminster, MD. and Keith LaMotte and friend Jane Bathrick of Pennsylvania. Sisters: Audrey Eslinger of Hampstead, MD., Dorothy Warehime of Baltimore, MD and Sandy Folk of Lineboro, MD. Brother: Russell "Bud" Abbott of Upperco, MD. Grandchildren: Dawn, Chuck Jr., Rusty, Erin, Taylor and Miranda. Great grandchildren: Brady and Lane. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters: Catherine Martin, Pat Hare, Shirley Gotwalt and Evelyn Bower.
Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St. Manchester, MD. on Friday at 11:00am. with the Rev. Matthew Schenning officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
The family will receive friends at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Dr. Manchester, MD. on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. or at the church on Friday from 10:00am. until the time of service.
