Gordon "Gordy" Charles Wirts

Gordon "Gordy" Charles Wirts, 72, of Westminster, MD, formerly of Harrisburg, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Nova Springs Assisted Living in Finksburg, MD.  Born on September 22, 1951, in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Ellwood Wirts, Sr. and Elizabeth June Coyle Wirts.

Gordy graduated from Franklin High School, class of 1970. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving him are siblings: Clarence "Butch" E. Wirts, Jr. and wife Sandy of Delaware, Kathleen M. Markey and husband Paul of Finksburg, MD, Eleanor M. C. Walters and husband Bob of Reisterstown, MD, and Susan R. Wirts of Westminster, MD.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Bobby Wirts, Julie Wirts-Gruss, Brian Wirts, Kristy Scilipote, and Heather Sankovitch.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 22, from 5-7 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm.

Inurnment will take place on Friday, April 5, at 2:30 pm in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
