Gordon Phillip Johnson Sr., 85, of Owings Mills died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson.
Born Dec. 31, 1922, in Crownsville, he was the son of the late George and Marie Gerwig Johnson. He was the husband of Melvina Delores Bruns Johnson, his wife of 61 years.
He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of World War II. He was a floor finisher for the former J.W. Powell Flooring Co.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Gordon Phillip Johnson Jr. of Silver Run; grandchildren Karen Berrier and husband Kevin, and Kristen Johnson; sisters and brother-in-law Audrey and David Metzbower of Hanover, Pa., and Elaine Johnson of York, Pa.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack and Nancy Bruns of Glen Burnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
