Granville Theodore "Bill" Troyer, 97, of Hanover, PA formerly of Hampstead died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Utz Terrace in Hanover, PA.
Born February 13, 1914 in Butler, he was the son of the late John Granville Troyer and Sarah Matilda Curtis Troyer. He was the husband of the late Ruth Eva Alban Troyer, his wife of 71 years, who died in 2004.
He was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Parkton and was a grader operator for Harry T. Campbell & Sons for 42 years. He graded all of the racetracks in the Baltimore area.
Surviving is his brother Sterling Troyer, and a niece and nephew Janet and Harold Switzer, who was his caretaker for 9 years.
He was predeceased by his son Robert Troyer and 2 sisters and 1 brother.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Saturday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
Interment will be in the Dulaney
Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 333, Monkton, MD 21111.
