Guy C. Panza age 107 of The Maples of Towson, MD. formerly of Reisterstown and Westminster, MD. died Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD.
Born Dec. 11, 1905 in Newark, New Jersey he was the son of the late Habbib Panza and Guglielmina Passiflora Panza. He was the husband of the late Sally Helena Peraro Panza who died in 1999.
He was a retired production manager for Lockheed Martin, formerly The Glen L. Martin Co. Years ago he was a member of the Democratic Club, Civil Defense, Holy Name Society and St. Ambrose Catholic Church where he was a usher. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was an usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, golf, football and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his daughters: Carol A. Zipfel and husband James of BelAir, MD. and Jacqueline M. Weir of Westminster, MD. Grandchildren: James Zipfel Jr., Philip Zipfel, Diane Messerschmidt, J. Christopher Weir, John Weir and Juliane Kellar. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by son in law: Joseph W. Weir, Jr. and siblings: Ralph DelGrosso, Americo and Frank Panza, Ida Panza-Sciullo, Amelia Panza-Porrera, Lena DelGrosso-Poggi, Rose Panza-Thompson and Genevieve Panza-Pick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 10:00am. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD. 21071.
Entombment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mill, MD.
If desired donations may be made to Gilchrist Hospice Care, 11311 McCormick Rd. Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD. 21031 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
