Gwendolyn “Joann” Lindsey

Gwendolyn "Joann" Lindsey, 67, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born on December 1, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Brown, Sr., and Helen Vann Brown. She was the wife of Edward Lindsey.

Years ago, Joann worked as a computer technician for the New York Public School System. She loved art, especially painting, drawing, and sewing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving her are children: Edweina Lindsey and Yvette Lindsey, siblings: Joseph Brown, Jr., and Denise E. B. Dobbs (Dereke), and nieces and nephews: Joshua Brown, Roland Brown, Ebony Francis, Candace Miller (Khalid), Terence Dobbs, and Devon Dobbs. She is also survived by extended family members and many close friends.

She was predeceased by a nephew: Trevor Dobbs.

The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Friday, January 31, from 10-11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am.

Interment is private.
