Harold Dennis Switzer

Harold Dennis Switzer, 88, of Manchester, MD, died on January 27, 2025, at home with his family. Born on February 15, 1936, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William and Helen Hunt Switzer.  He was the beloved husband of Janet Stepp Switzer for 66 years.

Harold was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1954.  He was an active member of Church of the Open Door, where he served the Lord in several areas.  After accepting Jesus as his personal Savior, his main desire was to see his family raised in a Christian home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter: Belinda Parrish and husband Troy of Manchester, and son: Mark Switzer of Easly, SC.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, and on Friday, January 31, from 9:30-10 am, at the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am, with Dr. Norris E. Belcher officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
