Harriett Richardson Ditchkus, 91, of Hampstead formerly of Melbourne, Fla., died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born November 24, 1920 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Carroll Richardson and Susie Virginia Collins Richardson. She was the wife of the late Clarence R. Tyler, Sr., and the late Ignace Ditchkus.

Years ago, she worked in computer operation for Bendix Corporation. She was a member of Melbourne Moose and enjoyed volunteering at the Holmes Medical Center and the Melbourne Senior Center, all in Melbourne, Fla. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and traveling especially by cruising.

Surviving is a daughter Kitty Shaffer and husband Paul of Hampstead; her 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Clarence R. "Toby" Tyler, Jr. and 4 siblings.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3100 Shiloh Road, Hampstead with the Rev. Denise Millett officiating.
