Hazel S. Leppo

Hazel Madaline Shower Leppo, 101, of New Oxford, PA, formerly of Manchester, MD, died Monday March 5, 2018 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the wife for 48 years to Franklin David Leppo who died in 2004.

Born September 4, 1916 in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Ross Shower, Sr. and Viola May Steger Shower.

She had many careers in her lifetime. She worked at Glen L. Martin during World War II and retired in 1979 after 25 years of service from Black and Decker, Hampstead. Mrs. Leppo was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, MD.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Ross Miller of Sparks, MD, and James Donald Miller and his wife, Louise of St. Petersburg, FL; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, a sister, Jacqueline Marlene Hunter and her husband Joseph of Hanover, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna May Switzer and Mary Catherine Rebert; and four brothers, William Ross Shower, Jr., George Robert Shower, John Joseph Shower and Donald Edward Shower.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday March 9, 2018 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. 21102. Interment will follow in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD. The Rev. Charles Marshall will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral chapel.
