Heather Joy Calhoun

Heather Joy Calhoun, 40, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at UMPC in Hanover, PA. Born on May 15, 1981 in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of Charlie and Debby Calhoun.

Heather worked as a cashier at a grocery store. She graduated from North Carroll High School in 2000, and she studied for one year at the Word of Life Bible Institute. She was a loyal member of Grace Bible Church of North Carroll.

She was a quiet, soft spoken person who based her life on faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and fervently chose to live by Christian principles. Through many adversities, she kept striving for fulfillment of God's plan for her life, with early and continued inspiration from her grandpa. She loved interacting with children and animals, especially her beloved dog, Blitzen. She also loved her truck, which she named Dubby and it bought her many moments of joy. Deeply loved and treasured, she brought great JOY and light to family, friends, and acquaintances. She and her sister had a special bond that will never be broken. Those who took the opportunity to befriend her were blessed beyond measure and delighted by her keen wit and sense of humor.

Surviving her in addition to her parents is a sister: Shannon Aberts and husband Dave, loving grandmother: Marjorie BonDurant, aunts: Lisa Neal and husband Steve, and Sandra Calhoun, uncles: Roger BonDurant and wife Greta, and Mark BonDurant and wife Michele. She is also survived by the extended family of Uncle Mike and Aunt Laurel, the Johnsons and Geislers, the Reeds, Uncle Vernon and Aunt Linda, as well as numerous cousins.

The family will receive visitors at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, on Sunday, April 17, from 5-7 pm and on Monday, April 18, starting at 10 am, until the time of service at 11 am, with Pastor Gregory Breen officiating.

Interment is private.
