Helen Marie Matthews

Helen Marie Matthews, 84, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in her son's home, surrounded by her family. Born on August 17, 1933 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Nagy.  She was the wife of the late Bobby Lynn Matthews.

Helen was a graduate of Catonsville High School. Later she met and married Bobby Matthews: they experienced true love, and together, they had one son. Helen's special interests centered around family and friends, which included, vacations, sports, plays, and concerts. Sundays and holidays were always her favorite time. She was very strong in her faith. She loved God. She loved people (Mark 12:30-31), and she was loved by everyone she met. The family rejoices in her heavenly welcoming.

She is survived by her beloved son: Michael, and his wife Michelle, grandchildren: Ian and Sydney, and siblings: Betty, Henry, and Karen, along with all of their children.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 31, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, at 11:30 am. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
