Helen Mae Simmons

Helen Mae Simmons, 97, of Hanover, PA, passed away with her daughter by her side, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA. Born on August 3, 1924, in Manchester, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lippy and Ruth Gilbert Lippy. She was the beloved wife of the late Carroll Eugene Simmons for 49 years, who died in 1996.

Helen worked for Manchester Elementary School as a secretary for 28 years. She was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead, MD.

Surviving her is daughter: Gwyn Weaver, and extended family: Phyllis Zumbrun.

Helen's beloved son-in-law, Jim Weaver, passed later the same day, January 29th.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 2nd, from 10-11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
