Helen Irene Yelton, 83, of Hampstead, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born Oct. 20, 1927, in Bakersville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Virgie Childers Jones. She was the wife of Tipton Yelton, her husband of 41 years, who died in 1987.
She was a retired assembly line worker for Black & Decker.
Surviving are sons Sherriell and Sherwood "Woody" Yelton, both of Hampstead; sisters Mary Belle Childers, of North Carolina, and Georgia Yelton, of Taneytown; a brother, Teddy Joe Jones, of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Ann James.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, noon Wednesday, at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville.
