Hella Ida Groves

Hella Ida Groves, 86, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at her home. Born on April 20, 1935, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Günther Fuchs. She was the beloved wife of almost 54 years to George Dallas Groves, Jr.

Hella was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, puzzles, traveling to Germany to see her family, slot machines, and the lottery. Hella was an avid cruiser. Above all else, she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are children: Ida Hella Metzler of Hampstead, MD, and Konrad Pete Engl of Perry Hall, MD, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by daughters: Anita Moore and Ursula Mahon, and 6 siblings.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 10:30 am.

Interment is private.
