Henry Walter Eckhardt, Sr. 84 years old of Randallstown, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Northwest Hospital Center.
Born October 21, 1927 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Roland Frederick Eckhardt and Ada Kirby Eckhardt.
He was the husband of Ruth Eileen Klohr Eckhardt, his wife of 64 years.
He was a Life Member of Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company, a member of V.F.W. Post 521 in Owings Mills and American Legion Post 116 Reisterstown. He retired as a truck driver for Sun Oil Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Henry W. Jr. and Patricia Eckhardt of Reisterstown, Brenda and Brian Eckard also of Reisterstown, Pamela and Bryan Higgs of Sykesville and brother Louis Eckhardt of Baltimore. Also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was pre deceased by a brother, Roland Eckhardt.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am.
Interment in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company.
