Hilda Romaine Hesson, 94, of Manchester died Friday January 28, 2011 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born October 13, 1916 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Clayton M. and Bertha Mae Miller Black. She was the wife of the late William Milton Hesson, who died in 2007.
Years ago she was a cook at the former Rus-Joy Inn. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law Mary and Henry Carroll of Manchester, Janet and Leroy Kohls of Hampstead, Phyllis and Nevin Coppersmith of Hanover, PA, and Linda and Robert Steger of Manchester; her sisters Marie Geiman of Hanover, PA, Miriam Thompson of Hampstead, and Margaret McCullough of Manchester; her grandchildren Barry Hesson, Pamela McCarthy, Teri Dougherty, Brian Carroll, Vicki Steger, Brenda Feeser, James Kohls, Tina Wilson and Sheri Hinton; and she is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren and great great step grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers Ritchie, Maurice, Cletus and Ruby Black, her grandson Michael Carroll and her step grandson Keith Wilson.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester and 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester with the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating.
Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
