Howard M. Stierhoff, 80, of Westminster died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born August 19, 1929 in Pikesville, he was the son of the late Oscar Free Stierhoff and Mary Emma Eck man Stierhoff. He was the companion of 45 years of Y. Darlene Thrasher Stierhoff, who was married to for 33 years.
He was a bricklayer for 44 years and was in business with his son for many years prior to his retirement. He was raised in Owings Mills.
He loved all sports, especially NASCAR. He enjoyed his retirement home in Potter County, PA, but had to return to Maryland for medical reasons. He cherished his pug, Muggsie.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son and daughter in law Howard, Jr. and Alba Stierhoff; his daughters and son in law Jo Ann and Terry Olyer and Mary Kathleen Stierhoff; his step daughter and son in law Susan and Paul Clayman; his sister and brother in law Mary Emma and William Esworthy; his brothers and sisters in law Harry Stierhoff, Edward and Shirley Stierhoff and Charles and Susan Stierhoff; his brother in law and sister in law Robert and Ilene Thrasher; his grandchildren Evan and Elyse Clayman and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother George Stierhoff and his sister in law Marlene Stierhoff.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren, 818 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster.
Interment will be private.
