Howard Parrish Walter, 89, of Finksburg, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.
Born Dec. 15, 1920, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Florence Wagner Walter. He was the husband of Evelyn Margaret Lamp Walter, his wife of 68 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired warehouse worker and truck driver for Athey Paint Co.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7242 and a member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Linda and Jerry Wagner; a son, Ronald Walter; grandchildren Dawn Wagner, Craig Wagner and wife Carolyn, Robin Hoff and husband Aaron and Ron and Michael Walter; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian McBride; and a brother, Harry Walter.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
