Howard Michael Zwagil

Howard Michael Zwagil, 74, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perry Point, MD. Born on August 8, 1951, in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Leon Zwagil and Betty (Berkowitz) Zwagil. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Anne (Gehlich) Zwagil.

Howard was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked for 27 years as a Federal Protective Service Officer. For the past 45 years, he has lived in Reisterstown. He enjoyed fishing and was a talented woodworker.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are daughters: Kathleen Chase and husband Matt, Melissa Spicer and husband Bryan, Megan Hayes and husband Clayton, grandchildren: Charles, Isla, Jackson, Hudson, Leland, and Isabelle. He is also survived by his brother: Larry Zwagil and wife Elizabeth, sisters-in-law: Rose Skelton and husband Rob, Reginia Gehlich, brothers-in-law: Joseph Gehlich and wife Susan, William Gehlich and wife Linda, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 8, from 4-6 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD.

A graveside service and interment will take place at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD, at a later date. Please check back for details.
