Irene E. Rhoten

Irene E. Rhoten, 91, passed away peacefully at the Dove House in Westminster, after battling a multitude of health issues. She was the daughter of Percy and Dortheen Rigler. She was the beloved wife of 73 years to John E. Rhoten, of Westminster, MD.

Irene was a master seamstress her whole life, with a passion for reading and world travel. Her most beloved job was her many years of working at Random House and all the lifetime friends she made while working there. She will be missed by many!

Surviving her in addition to her husband is her son: Michael Rhoten of Westminster, brother: Jimmy Rigler of Arizona, granddaughter: Lisa Eisenbarth of Minnesota, and step-granddaughter: Shannon Schaeffer of Rosedale. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters: Willa and Brianna, and three step-great-grandchildren: Maya, Mackenzie, and Jacob.

Irene was predeceased by her daughter: Carol Lynn Riggins and grandson: Jason Michael Rhoten, brother: Shirley Rigler, and half-brother: Ralph Condon.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 17, at 11 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.

Interment is private.
