Iva Burke Mann, 69, of Manchester died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Warren, Arkansas on July 4, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Lyon and Rowena Wherry Lyon. She was the wife of the late Roger E. Mann, her husband of 11 years, who died in 1989.
Mrs. Mann was bank teller for former First National Bank in Hampstead and later was a deli clerk for the Weis Supermarket in Greenmount. She was a past member of the Honda Goldwings. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, flowers, and watching movies. She especially loved spending time with her
grandchildren.
Surviving are her children and spouses Dawn "Vicki" Brooks and her fiancé Brian Hill of Westminster, Donna Carroll and her husband Brian of Manchester, Danny Mann and his wife Karen of Virginia, Paula Burke of Manchester, and Billy Burke, Jr. and his wife Laura of Manchester; her former husband William Burke, Sr.; her step children Belinda Rill, Diane Wilcox, and Larry Mann; her sisters Joyce Cope and Jondelyn McKenzie; her brother Louis Lyon; her 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
Interment will be private.
