Jack William Wasowicz, Sr., 70, of Hanover, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Born on November 18, 1955, in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Carl Wasowicz and Dorothy Polen Wasowicz. He was the beloved husband of Darlene Elizabeth Wasowicz, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Jack was a steel worker at Ivy Steel for 28 years. He took great pride in his family and cherished the time he spent with those he loved. He especially treasured making memories with his seven grandchildren; Josh, Brooksen, Ava, Zack, Grady, Casey and Alaina. His favorite place to be with them was Ocean City Maryland Jack enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved fishing, attending his grandkids sports games, enjoying good food, and going to concerts. One of his favorite bands was Def Leppard which he saw in concert at least 15 times. He was a collector of all things he deemed sentimental. He loved the Ravens and the Orioles and talk radio. Above all, Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Tina McGinn and Jack Wasowicz, Jr. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and siblings: Carl Wasowicz, Jr., Karen Schaffer, and Michael Wasowicz. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Patricia Parks.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 12, from 3:30-5:30 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 5:30 pm.

Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Jack’s memory consider making a donation to Believe in Tomorrow or Tunnel of Towers

Arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Manchester, MD.
