Hettie Marilyn "Jackie" Doten, 85, of Sykesville formerly of Randallstown died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.

Born June 28, 1925 in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the Everett Lacey Puckett and James and Clara Mae Thayer Prince. She was the wife of the late Russell Wills Doten, Sr., her husband of 25 years, who died on June26, 1985.

She had retired in 1987 from General Electric in Arbutus as a shipping clerk. She was a former member of the Church of the Holy Apostles, Arbutus and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Sykesville. She was a current resident of the Fairhaven Retirement Community. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Post 521 and American Legion, Post 122 both in Owings Mills.

In her spare time she enjoyed playing her organ, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, quilting, and enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.

Surviving are her children and spouses Carol Pfab of Madison Heights, VA, Sharon and Tom Schwartz of Sykesville, Edward W. "Dutch" and Darlene Doten of Essex, E. James and Yvonne Warfield and Russell W., Jr. and Janice Doten all of Reisterstown, and Nancy E. Doten of Sykesville; her grandchildren and spouses George Fritz and Carol Pfab, James and Michele Schwartz, Elizabeth "Beth" and Cody Plog, Melinda and Joey Salkeld, Candice and Tim Salkeld, and Tracey Gunn; her great grandchildren Alison and Ashley Schwartz and Jordan and Brody Salkeld; and a son-in-law Mike Gunn.

She was predeceased by her daughter Dorothy "Dot" Gunn and her son-in-law Frank Prince.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills and 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at the 10 a.m. Friday at the Fairhaven Chapel, 7200 3rd Avenue, Sykesville at the Fairhaven Retirement Community with her pastor the Rev. Wayne H. Larson officiating.

Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
