Jacqueline Marlene Hunter

Jacqueline Marlene Hunter, 87, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at UPMC Hanover. Born on September 13, 1938, in Manchester, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Ross Shower, Sr. and Viola May Steger Shower. She was the beloved wife for 68 years to the late Joseph Sterling Hunter, Sr., who passed away in 2024.

Jackie worked as an administrative supervisor for the State of Maryland. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, square dancing and participating in activities at Homewood Living at Plum Creek where she lived. Jackie was a former member of Bixler United Methodist Church in Westminster, Maryland.

Surviving Jackie is a son: Todd Frederick Hunter of McDonough, GA, and grandsons: Joseph Sterling Hunter, III and Todd Frederick Hunter, Jr.

Jackie was predeceased by her son: Joseph Sterling Hunter, Jr., and siblings: Hazel Madaline Leppo, William Ross Shower, Jr., George Robert Shower, John Joseph Shower, Mary Catherine Rebert, Anna May Switzer and Donald Edward Shower.

Funeral Services and interment are private.
