James Rudolph Clary, 94, of Manchester, MD, passed away on June 18, 2018, in Baltimore, MD. Born on November 13, 1923, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James Wilson and Anna Ernestine Kent Clary. He was the loving husband of the late Alvina Charlotte Emrhein Clary.
James worked in the engineering department for C&P Telephone Company for 44 years, served as treasurer at Brantly Baptist Church for 50 years, and served in World War II in the Army Signal Service Battalion stationed in Hawaii.
He is survived by his daughters: Karen Gibson and her husband David, and Janice Cohen, granddaughter: Laura Gibson, grandsons: Justin Cohen, Brandon Cohen and his fiancée Haelee Pettingill, and Kenneth Higgins and his wife Karen, sisters: Miriam Lauterbach, and Jeanette Wilson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter: Joan Meffert, siblings: Wilson Clary, Franklin Clary and his wife Anita, and brothers-in-law: Maynard Lauterbach and Samuel Wilson.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 20, from 7-8 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Lorraine Park Cemetery, Woodlawn, MD.
