James Donald Flater, 69, of Hampstead died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at his residence.
Born on March 10, 1939, he was the son of the late James H. Flater and Madeliene Schreck Flater. He was the husband of Betty Catherine Ruby Flater, his wife of 50 years.
Mr. Flater was a Manufacturing Technician for AAI Corporation.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons and daughter in law James Eric Flater of Hampstead and David Wesley and Tracey Lynn Flater of Germantown; his sisters and brother in law Cora L. Kilduff of Westminster and Kathleen and John Heald of New Mexico; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Jack M. Schreck.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with Rev. Louis Piel officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
