James George "Jim" Gill, 76, of Finksburg died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late George Lister Gill and Jane Gill. He was the husband of Doris Bower Gill, who died in 2004.
He was a retired truck driver for the Coca-Cola Company. He was a member of the VFW Post 467 in Westminster and enjoyed playing pool.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-laws James Brian Sr. and Debbie Gill of Arbutus; David Michael and Joy Gill of Gettysburg, Pa.; Mark Timothy and Laura Gill of Edgewood; Scott Bower and Debbie Gill of Westminster; and Patrick Neil and Tammy Gill of Finksburg; grandchildren Jennifer, Brian Jr., Kevin, Ashley, Mackenzie, Ethan, Nick, Ben, Brett and James; a great-grandchild, Camryn; and a sister, Betty Leppo of Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Charles Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Westminster Rescue Mission, 658 Lucabaugh Mill Road, Westminster, MD 21157.
