James Horton Spurrier, 77 years old of Upperco, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born June 23, 1932 in Baltimore he was the son of the late Franklin Elsworth and Ethel Marriott Spurrier.
He was the husband of Ora Viola Marshall Spurrier.
He served honorably with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He retired from AT&T where he was a systems technician. He was a member of Maryland Chapter of the First Marine Division Association.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Bonnie Lee Peller of Hampstead and sons-in-laws Kenneth Peller, Gilbert Chrystal of Owings Mills and Bruce Yarnell of Hampstead.He was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Marie Chrystal. Also survived by his grandchildren, James Allen Yarnell, David James Chrystal, a great grandchild, Mary Huddler, and a brother, John C. Spurrier.
Friends may call on Monday, February 15, 2010, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday the 16th, 10:00 AM at Baltimore County Baptist Church, 14450 Hanover Pike, Reisterstown, MD 21136.The Rev. Dr. David LeBlanc officiating.
Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills at 11:30.
