Janet Marie Kohls

Janet Marie Kohls, 86, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA.  Born on September 5, 1937, in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Hesson and Hilda Black Hesson.  She was the beloved wife of the late Leroy George Kohls.

Janet worked on federal dental claims for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland.  She enjoyed crafting at Homewood and playing bingo.

Surviving her are children: Brenda Lee Medlock of Hanover, PA, and James Andrew Kohls of Littlestown, PA, grandchildren: Ginger Baker, Lauren Genua, David Feeser, Madison Kohls, Logan Kohls, Megan Embly-Kohls, 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Mary Carroll, Linda Steger, and Phyllis Coppersmith.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 29, from 9-11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Greenmount Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
