Jean Marie Catherine Southard

Jean Marie Catherine Southard, 95, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD.  Born on March 8, 1929, in Adams County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Small and Ethel Martin Small.  She was the beloved wife of the late Russell Edward Southard, Sr., who passed away in 2006.

Jean worked at GBMC as a Registered Nurse.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon. She enjoyed volunteering at Mission of Mercy and the Mother Teresa Sister's House in Baltimore.

Surviving her are children: Susan Morgan of Hampstead, MD, Mark Southard and wife Nancy of Hampstead, MD, Matthew Southard and wife Donna of Sykesville, MD, grandchildren: Jackie, Luke, Katie, John, Darin, Danny, Ryan, Tristen, Logan, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Jean was predeceased by her son: Russell Southard, Jr., and her siblings.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 30, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 9:30 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD.

Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Mother Teresa Sister's House, payable to "Missionaries of Charity" 818 North Collington Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21205.
