Jean Marie Desandro

Jean Marie DeSandro, 85, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at BridgingLife Dove House, formerly known as Carroll Hospice in Westminster, Maryland. Born on September 8, 1936, in Anita, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael Ferko and Ann Schrock Ferko. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late William Robert DeSandro.

Years ago, Jean worked for the Social Security Administration in data entry. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving her is a daughter: Cheri DeSandro Brown and husband Gary, grandchildren: Lanaye Brown Hoover and husband Tim, Michael Brown and wife Tiffany, great-grandchildren: Hayden Brown, Collin Hoover, Kendra Brown, Kaylee Hoover, and brothers: William J. Ferko, Michael G. Ferko, and Thomas J. Ferko. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 8, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Historic Church), 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, Maryland 21071.

Interment will be held at a later date in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
