Jean L. Reter-Long née Krauch (Gamama), 99, of Eldersburg, MD, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on July 10, 1925, in Glyndon, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Cornelia Krummel Krauch. She was married to the late Lawrence W. Reter and Robert E. Long.
Jean worked as a teller at Maryland National Bank (Bank of America) from 1961 to 1987, retiring after 26 years. She loved to sew, read, watch TV and do all kinds of crafts until she became legally blind in 2003.
Surviving her are daughters: Sandra J. Myers of Waynesville, NC, Carol A. Vaughan of Berlin, MD, and Peggy D. Martin of Eldersburg, MD, 5 grandchildren: Wanda Click of Kissimmee, FL, Wendy Eash of Clarkesville, GA, Tiffany Ayres of Queene Anne, MD, Philip Cohen of West Deptford, NJ, and Geoffrey Vaughan of Fayetteville, NC, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
She was predeceased by siblings: Donald E. Krauch of Chicago, IL, and Shirley Robinson of New York, NY.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
